Mrs. Nabeela Ali

Bureau Chief Nawa-i-Jang is the Chairperson for AMAN project. She has been a journalist for most of her professional life. During the last decade, her writings in Pakistani and UK media have been focussed on doing Jihad with the pen. She has published special features on Terrorism, Islamophobia and Racism; Interviewed community leaders and promoted the work of regional, national and international charities .

Dr. Ali

Dr. Ali has a distinguished academic career and was awarded the prestigious UNDP Human Development Fellowship for Asia and Pacific in 2005. He completed his Ph.D. in Rural Development from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2009 and worked there as Guest Staff Member. During late 1990s, he worked as Monitoring and Evaluation expert in Pakistan. He is also credited with conducting a systematic review of research related to Islamic Microfinance.

Dr. Hari Shukla

Dr. Hari Shukla has given his life to Race Relations since1974 officially and many years before that voluntarily. He takes a keen interest in interfaith relationships and is involved with the coordination of a faith leaders group in Newcastle. Hari is the former Director of Tyne & Wear Racial Equality Council.  He was made a Freeman of the City of Newcastle and awarded an OBE in 2003 and CBE in 2015.

Mumtaz Hussein Sanam

Mumtaz Hussein Sanam is Chairman of Pakistan Cultural Society a registered charity, founded in 1993 to promote arts and culture from the Sub-Continent. PCS strives for creation of socially integrated communities in the North East through the promotion of Interfaith dialogue and Multiculturalism.

Mr. Sajwal Khan

First Pakistani to become a Councillor from Newcastle City Council in 1990, Mr. Sajwal Khan was chosen as ‘Justice of Peace’ in 1993 and later appointed as Honorary Alderman at Newcastle City Council in 2007. Mr. Khan has deep understanding and expertise in matters related to Race Relations, Equality and Diversity.
