Newcastle BME Education Group Conference took place on Monday 28th September at Westgate Hill Primary School. Besides other sessions, the conference featured a special inaugural session of AMAN project entitled “Raising awareness: Anti- Radicalisation & Community Cohesion”.
AMAN project participated with the Council of Faiths’ Annual Walk for Peace took place on Sunday, 11 Oct 2015. Beginning at 2pm from the Hindu Temple on the West Road, participants walked together to the Church of the Venerable Bede, the Newcastle Central Mosque and The Sikh Gurdwara. Chairman of anti-radicalisation group Aman Nabeela Ali hoped that such events would produce closer ties between different community groups.
St Nicholas’ Cathedral, the Mother Church of the Diocese of Newcastle, in partnership with Newcastle Council of Faiths hosted a special seminar ‘Common Ground for the Common Good’ to promote the innovative work of Anti-Radicalisation Mentoring and Awareness Network (AMAN) on Wednesday 18th November.
